South Hill Can Really Get Wicked

On my ride to work today, I decided I really should get back to this blog, so thanks to a student's comment to me today, I have a place to start. I love love love teaching summer school. During the rest of the year, I get crabby when a cell phone rings; today when a song erupted from a backpack I broke out dancing and heard a young male student exclaim "South Hill can really get wicked." Such a cool phrase for so many reasons. I think I want it for a tattoo.

What rocks about summer school? I work from about 9-12 and then leap over my students ala Jack Black in School of Rock as he runs out the door with a brief "catch you on the flip flop." Office hours? No: Meetings? No. It's all the fun of teaching without all the grief.
